Today

Last night at 1:00 AM my roommate announced with great pomp and circumstance that she was going to bed, but was getting up in a few scant hours – 5:00 AM – to study, so don’t let her alarm wake us!
Considering 4 hours is about my norm, and her alarm doesn’t wake me on a [...]

Pick of the Week

Which yes, requires effort and thought. (Although I thought Nutella was fairly thought-provoking too . . .)
a fascinating article!
What say ye?

Pressure Cooker

I’m stymied at every turn, and right about now I feel like someone is plugging my steam outlets, and I want to explode.
On the other hand, I’m not sure I have enough energy left to explode.
Or if exploding would make it worse in the long run.
What’s the most frustrating is not BEING frustrated (which is bad [...]

Blonde Impressions

Throughout this post I will spell blonde with an E, even though it’s a rather British spelling that is not always used AND my spellcheck says its wrong. It makes more sense and conveys what I want it to. So.
Three things in life conspire against me. (Actually I think life itself conspires against me, but [...]

Pick of the Week

This may seem a bit egotistical, but I’m allowed to be so on my own blog. Right?
Check out this parody of The Office. Laura and I filmed and edited (well, she edited, I sat there and assisted), and we are currently writing and preparing to shoot the next episode.

Non-Culpability Forms

I was looking through the Nutella website (yes, sometimes my own posts inspire me to look things up) and on the form for a random prize drawing to receive a case of Nutella, I found this. They make sure they cannot be liable for . . . well, anything.

BY ACCEPTING A PRIZE, WINNERS AGREE THAT THE SPONSOR, [...]

Forum

So OK, I’m going to use my blog for whatever purposes I desire. Today I declare it a chat room, forum, whatever name makes you feel like an important contributor. I have an honest question arising from curiousity. Yes I have a few people I want especially to hear from, but I want you, my many [...]

The Museum Experience

It all started Saturday morning. Well, early afternoon. OK, whatever you call 11:30ish. I had gotten up early for a ‘testing session.’ This consisted of signing some forms, answering hundreds of mundane, repetitive, inconsequential questions, and getting paid 50 bucks. Not bad.
I had just finished said session and sat down to eat a brunchish meal. [...]

Culture Pick!

Tomorrow I will have to make a longer post about the actual happenings of today.

For now I will leave you with this: check out the Eisner Museum of Advertising and Design in Milwalkee.

As David incredulously said “You went to a museum about . . . advertising?”
Yes. Yes we did.
It was pretty sweet. They [...]
